In addition to standard clear insulated glass, INICIO offers a range of specialty glazing options including Satin Etch (Satinato), Laminated (Matte White Interlayer), Seedy Baroque, Laminated Clear, Standard Obscure, Chinchilla (Wave Glass), Delta, Waterfall, and Cathedral patterns. These options provide added privacy or decorative character to suit any design vision.
Do INICIO steel doors offer true divided lite and simulated divided lite options?
Yes. INICIO steel doors can be configured with True Divided Lites (TDL) featuring multiple individual glass panes separated by glazing beads for authentic period-correct aesthetics, or Simulated Divided Lites (SDL) with applied grille bars on a single insulated glass unit for clean modern lines with better thermal performance. TDL configurations will have slightly different NFRC values due to additional framing material.
How thick can the insulated glass be in INICIO steel doors?
Due to the depth of the INICIO steel door profile, these doors can accommodate insulated glazing up to 52mm (approximately 2 inches) thick. Standard glazing is 1 inch (27mm) thick. This capacity supports both dual-pane and triple-pane glass assemblies and other advanced glazing configurations for superior energy efficiency in demanding climates.
